Times Picayune: Cooking Oil, Grease to be collected for Biodiesel (February 26, 2011)

Beginning in March, The Green Project will collect used cooking oil and cooking grease at its warehouse to be used for biodiesel. Community Matters: GYBP Strong Communities Finalist (February 23, 2011)

Operation REACH’s Gulfsouth Youth Biodiesel Project was a finalist in the Strong Communities Competition at CommunityMatters’10 in Denver, Colorado. Gulfsouth Youth Biodiesel is an innovative, youth-led social enterprise designed to collect and recycle New Orleans’ used cooking oil into environmentally-friendly biodiesel fuel as a means of educating and developing leadership, environmental stewardship, and social entrepreneurship of young people for the “Green Collar” workforce.
