Home for Homework

Home for Homework started in 1998 in New Orleans’ St. Bernard Housing Development and continues today as Operation REACH’s primary effort to provide high-quality afterschool programming to low-income children and youth.

Home for Homework engages children and youth in the after-school hours by providing a safe, home-like environment where college-age volunteers provide one-on-one academic assistance to students in kindergarten through grade 8. In addition to homework assistance, the program offers recreational activities, service projects, and opportunities for parent involvement.
